Overview
Giving support usually means checking requests, comparing members and approving each one yourself. Auto-Support does that part for you. You decide the limits once; Garder only ever supports members who meet them, and only with the share of your wallet you allow.
How it works
Add money and set your rules
Wallet → "Let your money work while you're away" in the app, or Give Support → My Support Offers → Auto-Support on the web. Confirm with your wallet PIN (the same one you use for transfers).
Garder opens offers for you
Anonymous offers are held from your wallet, never more than your limit. They show in the Marketplace with an "⚡ Instant approval" badge. They stay open until a member takes them or you pause. Offers on a member's request close after 7 days, or as soon as the request is funded or closed, and the money returns to your wallet.
Members who qualify get it at once
When a member who meets your rules requests one, it's approved straight away. You don't have to be online. Members who don't qualify yet are told how close they are.
Garder also offers on requests
If you allow it, Garder makes anonymous offers on fresh Community+ requests from members who meet your rules. When a member clearly says when they will pay back, that date is used if it falls within your longest time; otherwise Garder skips the request. The member accepts, then the money is sent. If they wrote a pay-back date (for example "I'll pay back 20th Nov") that falls within your longest time, the offer uses that date as one payment; if it's later than your longest time, Garder skips that request.
Repayments go back into your pot
As members pay back, the money lands in your wallet and Auto-Support uses it to support the next person, always within your limit.
Your rules
The starting values are shown in brackets. Change any of them, any time.
Most of my wallet out at once (50%)
Money waiting in offers plus money still owed to you never goes above this share of your pot (your wallet + what's out). The rest always stays free for you.
Amount per person (₦1,000 – ₦20,000)
A range, for example ₦20,000 – ₦40,000. Garder only offers on requests inside it, and makes marketplace offers at the top of it (or a smaller amount that's still inside it). Spreads your money so one late payer can't hurt much.
Return (10%)
Charged once on the whole support, like your own offers. 10% on ₦20,000 means the member pays back ₦22,000.
Longest time (3 months)
Paid back monthly.
Completed supports (3 or more)
How many supports the member has already paid back in full.
Repayment rate (90% or more)
The share of their supports they've repaid. It counts once a member has a record. Example: 3 repaid out of 4 is 75%.
How Garder finds people
Marketplace offers (instant approval), offers on members' requests, or both.
An example
You add ₦200,000 and keep the starting rules. Up to ₦100,000 can be out at once, about 5 members at ₦20,000 each. If everyone pays back, each round earns about ₦9,750 after Garder's 2.5% fee on returns. Because repayments go back out, the same money can work several times over a few months.
The member receives their support minus Garder's 0.85% origination fee (that comes off their side, not yours). Full details: Platform Fees.
If you're getting support
Instant approval offers
In Marketplace → Support Offers, look for "Instant approval". If it says you qualify, request it and the money lands in your wallet right away.
Not there yet?
The offer tells you exactly how close you are, for example "You're 2 completed supports away". Paying your current support on time is the fastest way up.
Offers on your request
An anonymous supporter may offer on your Community+ request. You'll get a notification; review it and accept if it works for you.
FAQ
Can I take my money out?
Yes. Anything not out with a member right now is yours to withdraw. Pause first if you want the money waiting in open offers back straight away.
What happens when I pause?
No new supports start. Open offers close and their money returns to your wallet. Members you're already supporting keep paying you back as normal.
What if someone pays late?
Garder reminds them and follows up, exactly as for support you give yourself. You'll see "Late" next to their name. Your money is not guaranteed.
Do I need a new PIN?
No. It's your wallet PIN, the same one you use for transfers. If you've never set one, you'll create it when you turn Auto-Support on.
Does it count for my Supporter badge?
Yes. Every support Auto-Support gives counts toward your Supporter badge and history, as if you'd given it yourself.
Can I still make my own offers?
Yes. Your own offers work as before. Auto-Support only uses the share of your wallet you allow.
How will I know what happened?
You get a notification each time Garder supports someone, and the Auto-Support page shows what's out, what's coming back and what you've earned.
